Our group classes are designed so that you don’t need a PhD in Sports Science to participate. We keep the exercises simple to prevent injuries and to ensure you can go all out to reach your goal. The average group size is 5 to 8 people and you can come work out with us every day of the week in the evening and morning.

What makes our group classes unique?

We train muscles instead of exercises

This sounds logical, but at many gyms, you get an exercise and if you feel pain, the weight goes down. We specifically look for a new exercise so that you can train the muscle pain-free.

We work with programming

Our classes change every month, so you can see if you’re getting stronger, but you also learn the movement well to prevent injuries. We don’t go full throttle every lesson, because we want to make your body fitter, not break it.

Seminars

Training is only a small part of what impacts your health. That’s why we also love to help you improve your sleep, strengthen your immune system, tackle your stress mindset with breathing tips, and give you nutritional advice.

What do clients say about the group classes?

I never liked working out in a gym because if I wanted to train legs with free weights, you had to train among all those typical gym types who all give unwanted advice. And I didn’t like group classes either because they weren’t intensive enough. Then I heard from a friend that Bamboo Gym was now offering group classes alongside Personal training, so I tried the 30-day pass and became completely enthusiastic. The classes are fun, tough, and I regularly have significant muscle soreness. The trainers know exactly how hard I can train and they work with personal heart rate monitors so I don’t rest too long during the workout. They also have special classes for stiff boards like me; it surprised me how flexible I could become within 30 days.

I wanted to pick up sports again but had no idea where to start. I found personal training too expensive but heard from a friend that the group classes at Bamboo Gym were also suitable for people who aren’t that good yet. During the intake, I discovered that I didn’t know my body well at all, because when Wouter asked if I wanted to flex my chest muscle, I flexed my neck and I didn’t know how to change this. This also explained my headaches and neck complaints. Wouter recommended the PLAY classes because I get to know my body better there, and could build up my basic strength and condition. Because it doesn’t help much if you go bench pressing using your neck instead of your chest. After 4 weeks of PLAY, I learned a lot about my body and I also feel better, which gives me more self-confidence, and next month I’m going to do my first Strength class.

The first week of January, April, July & October, we test how much you have progressed. Next to this, you can see the results of a number of members. If you progress, you earn our unique Bamboo Gym team member t-shirt.

how far in advance can I sign up

You can sign up 14 days in advance

can I sign up for my boyfriend/girlfriend?

no, you can only register for yourself with your own account. You can, however, agree to book at the same time

Can I bring my kids?

Unfortunately, this is not possible due to safety reasons.

What is the Morpheus band?

The Morpheus band is a heart rate monitor that determines your heart rate zones using your HRV. In plain English: if you train without a heart rate monitor, you never know if you’re training in the right zone. Suppose you want to improve your condition but your heart rate is so high that you’re actually only acidifying, then you’re training for nothing. Training in the right zone is therefore very important. BUT a heart rate strap doesn’t adapt if your child wakes up 3 times at night or if you went out the day before. The Morpheus band does this and also connects with your Apple watch, Oura ring, or your Garmin/Polar heart rate watch. This way you can achieve your goal faster and without frustrations and plateaus.

Facilities

You can change here, but we don’t have showers.

We do have a toilet with free hair elastics, deodorant & tampons in case you forgot them.

You can recover quietly before or after class or use a massage ball
