What does a personal trainer cost in Nijmegen?

The average price for a personal trainer in Nijmegen is about 80 euros per hour. However, there are personal trainers who charge only 50 euros per hour, as well as those who charge 130 euros per hour. We offer personal training for 96 euros per hour with a 24-session package. The profession of personal trainer is not a protected title, which means anyone who looks fit and has some experience can call themselves a personal trainer. This makes it difficult for you to determine who is the best fit for you.

What do you expect from a personal trainer?

Some people find 96 euros per hour expensive, while others find it cheap. This opinion is based on what you expect from a personal trainer and what the personal trainer offers.

In principle, all personal trainers offer the same; they provide:

accountability
– motivation during training
– customized training schedule
– personal nutrition plan
– fun and varied workouts

But what is the difference between a personal trainer who charges an hourly rate of 35 euros versus 110 euros per hour?

What does a personal trainer cost per month?

A personal trainer who looks good doesn’t automatically mean they can make you look that way too. The same applies to a physiotherapist who is a shoulder specialist just because they’ve had a shoulder problem themselves. At Bamboo Gym, we often see new clients who have already visited various trainers or physiotherapists and are still overweight or injured. This doesn’t mean those professionals are bad; they just don’t have the broad knowledge that we do.

G

Frozen Shoulder

She hadn’t been able to babysit her grandchildren for 15 years because she could barely move her shoulder. She had visited various physiotherapists, manual therapists, chiropractors, and shoulder specialists in Mill. She had already received 2 corticosteroid injections that didn’t last, and she also had type 1 diabetes. We adjusted her nutrition, improved her breathing pattern, and did heavy strength training with her. After 10 sessions, her symptoms were gone.

Costs: 915 euros
Previous costs: 10,000 euros.

G

Burnout

The client wasn’t feeling well, had a burnout, was constantly ‘on,’ and very aware of her surroundings. Her psychologist couldn’t quite reach her, so she decided to try a different approach. By paying attention to her nutrition and facing her limits during training, she literally came face-to-face with herself and could work on the problems she previously didn’t dare to confront.

Costs: 2,195 euros
Previous costs: 5,000 euros.

G

18 Kilos lost

After no success with various personal trainers, she was determined to achieve results at Bamboo Gym. She had received volumes of information about what works, but all that information is far too much for a layperson. That’s why we invested in small habits that eventually led to big changes. After 6 months, she had lost 18 kilos.

Costs: 4,390 euros
Previous costs: 5,000 euros without results

So it doesn’t matter if you are a great specialist; if you don’t dare to look or act broadly, you quickly miss a number of crucial factors that influence complaints.

How do you know if you’ve found a good personal trainer?

1. Do more trial sessions

We recommend everyone to do a free trial session with at least 3 different personal trainers in Nijmegen. This gives you a good idea of who fits you best.

2. How does it feel?

How many certifications the personal trainer has doesn’t matter much if you don’t have a click with him or her. Do you feel at ease in the space, and does the trainer listen or do they just talk?

3. How good is the personal trainer?

If you have no experience with a personal trainer, you have no frame of reference. These questions are useful to ask.

1. How many repetitions should I do for my goal?

2. Which muscles should I feel during this exercise?

3. Do they also ask about your sleep?

Answers:

1.
strength: 0-20 sec = 2 to 5 reps
muscle growth: 20-40 sec = 6 to 10 reps
fat burning: somewhere between 40 sec and 120 sec with a rest period that is just too short to recover (+/- 30 sec)

If the trainer starts with 3 sets of 10 reps, then they haven’t listened to your goal. Ask them why it’s not 4 sets of 9 reps. If they can’t give a good answer, that’s a real red flag.

2.
If you’re doing a push-up and they don’t explain that you should feel your chest, triceps, and a bit of the front shoulder, and you only feel your neck and shoulder, then something is going wrong.

3.
Good sleep is essential for weight loss, prevents binge eating, and gives you more energy. But your immune system or breathing are also important topics to discuss.
